Takaya Corporation, established in 1894, has evolved from a textile manufacturer into a global leader in both the textile and electronics industries. Originally known for producing Bitchu textiles, the company has embraced technological innovation, becoming a key player in RFID and Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS) systems. These advanced solutions are widely applied in sectors like retail, transportation, and security, revolutionizing store security and asset management globally. The company's expertise also extends to Flying Probe Tester (called In-circuit board tester) and the automated assembly of electronics. Takaya's commitment to corporate social responsibility is evident in its efforts to promote workforce diversity, including a program for employing disabled individuals since the 1970s. It has also contributed to the arts and local culture, notably through the establishment of the Hanatori Otsuka Art Museum. Balancing tradition with innovation, Takaya continues to focus on global expansion and sustainable growth, aiming to develop technologies that address current demands and shape future industries.

The Otsuka Museum of Art opened in June 1994 after the Takaya Cultural Foundation was established in 1992 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Takaya Group's founding, with the aim of contributing to the development and accumulation of local art and culture through patronage activities.

The museum's collection consists of around 300 works (including sketches) by Japanese painter Kanashima Keika, who was born in Kannabe-cho, Hiroshima Prefecture, as well as around 600 works by leading modern and contemporary Japanese and Western-style artists, such as Yokoyama Taikan, Hashimoto Kansetsu, Kodama Nozomi, Maeda Seison, Ikeda Yoson, and Umehara Ryuzaburo.
